Ofra Haza: Kirya (eastwest)

David Bennun, Melody Maker, 2 May 1992

IGGY POP? As if Eldritch wasn't unlikely enough — Iggy f***ing Pop? This lady's agent doesn't lack imagination. What next? A guest spot with GG Allin? The KLF would be too predictably incongruous. It'd be kind of appropriate, though, as it was the Dance vogue for sampling Eastern vocal cadences that first brought Ofra Haza to the attention of audiences outside the Middle East.
