NWA'S DEBUT, with a high count of F-words, savaging of bad policing, and ambivalent depictions of LA street drug-dealers, teen-gang wars and urban ruin, has already been banned from broadcast in 30 states, in the face of huge underground sales. Delighted recognition, from disenfranchised black youth, of scenes they know only too well, set off against the establishment hostility that always follows.
