NEW ORLEANS IS widely recognized as the birthplace of jazz, but the Crescent City has also played a part in rock 'n' roll. Its rhythm & blues tradition has exerted an enormous influence on rock artists from the Rolling Stones to Robert Palmer to Little Feat.
