Naughty By Nature, Run D.M.C., SWV, Wreckx-n-Effect, Apache: Radio City Music Hall, New York NY

Rob Tannenbaum, Rolling Stone, 13 May 1993

RUN-D.M.C. holds a fistful of rap firsts — Top Five single, million-selling album, Rolling Stone cover — so it's hardly surprising that it's now the first rap group to come back from the dead. This may even be its most impressive achievement, given all the hip-hop heroes who've gone out like Hoffa. Fallen B-boys should heed Run-D.MC-'s blueprint for a renaissance: Hire a newest-school crowd shaker like Pete Rock to produce a single, then bolster the buzz with a show that upstages the headliners.
