Nashville Breaks Out: Sex, Jokes and Rock 'N' Roll Help An Indie Band On The Rise

Jim Sullivan, The Boston Globe, 30 July 1999

"WE ARE,'' says guitarist Ruyter Suys (pronounced "Rider Sighs''), of the band Nashville Pussy, "aiming for the more basic enthusiasms of life, just having a good time. I mean, the message is: Forget everything. Drink if you have to. What we do is low-attention-span music, but there is more behind it, also, something that will immediately grab you. We started the band out of boredom, and we wanted to start a band that we wanted to go and see. I have always wanted to see a chick go nuts on stage. I'm really appalled that it's me doing it. I thought for sure somebody else would be doing it by now.''
