Mods: The Resurrection Of Chad

Lesley White, The Face, June 1984

For two days the town slept uneasily, anticipating events prophesied by dark whispers in the roadside inns. As the pilgrims gathered by their tents, huddled in Parkas, a hush fell on the East Coast. There was going to be trouble. The omens had been read in the popular press of 20 years past. Chad, the son of Mod, was dead. Roll away the scooters. Let the soul classics ring out. For on the third day, there occurred a modernist miracle! Twenty years after the first Mod runs of the Sixties, THE FACE rides along with the Class of '84.
