SLUMPED DEAD in his car seat from an apparent drug overdose was Mike Bloomfield, 37, arguably the greatest white blues guitarist of his generation. He moved to the Bay Area more than 12 years ago, when the entire world watched the burgeoning San Francisco music scene and Bloomfield was one of rock's most celebrated soloists.
