Marshall Tucker Band escapes Allman Brothers' turf to get Where We All Belong

IT WAS six o'clock on a heat-dripping Monday morning and the hundreds of youthful boogieoids gathered in front of Spartanburg's largest record store were ready to rock. The Marshall Tucker Band's first album, nine months in the making and years in anticipation, was in the stores at last, and delicious tensions ran high in the growing mob. When it was discovered that there were less than 100 albums for the more than 600 customers, the store's manager had all he could do to keep his business from being trashed by frustrated fans.
