Loudon Wainwright III: Album II (Atlantic SO 8291)

Mark Leviton, Coast, October 1971

LOUDON WAINWRIGHT'S first album last year was concerned with communication on a middle-Dylanish leveland it presented Loudon's character quite clearly: with sensitivity to his surroundings and 2 deep imagination for situations and a range of experience well thought over, he is nonetheless essentially a loner. The same feeling transfers to his second long-player, right down to the nearly identical reject-me stare in the vacant cover photograph.
