PROOF MAY no longer be needed that Lou Reed's former group the Velvet Underground are the most influential band in the field of rock 'n' roll, but that didn't stop memorable opening act the Feelies from playing a medley of Velvets songs to drive the point home. Reed himself steered clear of those classics, instead demonstrating that at 45 he is as in tune with contemporary America as ever.
