Emerging from the punk and art school scene of 1970s Liverpool, It's Immaterial are the band that time cruelly forgot. Despite one enduring big hit, 'Driving Away From Home', their cultivated aesthetic, eccentric methodology, unlucky timing and obsession with perfection cursed them to obscurity. But they left behind two overlooked albums of perfect poise and elegant articulacy whose re-examination is long overdue.
