Little Feat, Big Future

Mark Plummer, Melody Maker, 14 July 1973

LITTLE FEAT'S Dixie Chicken is possibly the finest rock record to have come from the other side of the Atlantic since the Allman Brothers were unleashed on an unsuspecting public. It's pure Southern funk. There's been plenty coming out the South recently. Wet Willie is tearing up clubs and concert halls from Little Rock to Detroit, Dr John's been working his Louisiana in Europe recently, the Muscle Shoals Sound crew have brought Traffic back up to the fore, yet Little Feat leave them all standing.
