Lester Bangs, R.I.P.
Ira Robbins, Trouser Press, August 1982
LESTER BANGS, whose writings probably influenced the style and outlook of countless rock critics, died in his New York apartment on April 30 at the age of 33. I hardly knew Lester personally, but I do feel extremely saddened by the senseless loss of a brilliant mind and a true-blue-American rock 'n' roller.
