LIKE MANY OF us, author Harvey Kubernik first heard Leonard Cohen through his interpreters.  Judy Collins recorded Cohen's obliquely lyrical 'Suzanne' and the sardonic suicide ode 'Dress Rehearsal Rag' on her 1967 In My Life album.
