IN 1978 THE suburbs of Los Angeles (Anaheim, Fullerton, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Redondo Beach etc.) were still a home for Disneyland, Movieland Wax Museum and a place to grab a Bob's Big Boy Burger on the way to Mexico. Punk rock, underground music, or alternative music was a Hollywood commodity with an airtight in-crowd and a tiny network of bands and clubs.
