WHEN I SAW Kraftwerk 38 years ago, as much as they were about the future, I didn't think they would actually make it into the future. Or that they would come to be viewed not as a quirky, experimental annex of prog rock, but sonic and conceptual pioneers deserving of a central place in the elevated halls of culture.
