Kate Bush: The Kick Outside

Harry Doherty, Melody Maker, 3 June 1978

2002 Prologue: I remember this interview with massive warmth. I knew me and Kate were obviously getting onside ‘cos this was done at the family house and the Mammy was making us tea. Kate’s lovely, adorable mammy was Irish and the house exuded the glow that only happy Irish families can give. Her father was a vet and the courtyard was testification of an "anytime, anywhere" policy. I remember that Barry Plummer took wonderful pics of Kate seated at the family grand piano.
