Julian Cope: Saint Julian (Island)

THERE HAVE been four Saint Julians. One, Julian of Toledo, persecuted the Jews; Julian the Hospitaller murdered his mum and dad by mistake; and three, Julian of Antioch, was tied in a sack and drowned at sea. Strangely, and despite equal rectitude, the fourth – Julian of Tamworth – has yet to grace the pages of The Penguin Dictionary Of Saints. But God Knows why.
