John, Yoko & Year One
Ritchie Yorke, Rolling Stone, 7 February 1970
TORONTO — The scene couldn't have been more appropriately peaceful if it had been staged by a film director. A color TV set flickered soundlessly in one corner; off to the right, two doves nestled in a cage amidst masses of flowers. The three phones had suddenly stopped three minutes before, and snow was starling to fall in splashing flakes on the windows. A Russian wolfhound nudged deeper into a buffalo rug and Ed Sullivan's vacuous visage bounced onto the screen.
