ICELAND MAY be bankrupt, its population might be fleeing the country and its volcanoes bringing the world to a standstill. But they can still produce rather good pop music, particularly in the form of Jón "Jónsi" Þór Birgisson. Jónsi is the lead singer, lyricist and guitarist with the mystic post-rock outfit Sigur Rós. who have recently leapfrogged Bjork to become Iceland's biggest musical export. But his solo music is very different.
