Jackie Wilson, The Marvels, Black Faith: Rainbow Theatre, London
David Nathan, Disc, 14 October 1972
CURRENTLY riding the national charts with 'I Get The Sweetest Feeling', Jackie Wilson is something of a veteran of the music scene having enjoyed hits since as far back as 1958 when he scored with 'To Be Loved', penned by Motown's Betty Gordy Jr. In spite or the competition over the years, Mr. Wilson can still command an audience, still make regular appearances in the American charts and can still entertain. And entertaining is the key to his success. He puts his all into whatever he does and communicates with his audience. Shamefully, due to lack of publicity, Jackie played his first major London appearance to a pitifully small audience at the Rainbow recently.
