IN THE BOWELS of the BBC's Maida Vale studios, a spirit is stirring. Spread around the large room, a band, choir and two singers are attacking their material. The tempo is upbeat, the music celebratory funk, the lyrics an affirmatory clamour about a euphoric high. The subject? The ecstasy of prayer.
