"WHY NOT BE at London Airport to welcome Jay?" That was the invitation in the late Roger Eagle’s R & B Scene. And so, on Monday 25 January 1965, Cliff White and I travelled to Heathrow to be told that Jay had forgotten his passport and missed his TWA flight. Gloria Cann, his manager’s wife, bought drinks and handed out Roulette promo copies of 'The Whammy'.
