Hippies take over from the Beatniks

A new youth grouping, the Hippies, has sprung up in San Francisco and promises to spread over America and to Europe. Hippies are still way-out, says LILLIAN ROXON, but they have an essential gaiety and zest for life which the Beatniks, whom they replace, scorned in their Bomb-dominated philosophy.
