AS GRAHAM PARKER & the Rumour trooped off stage after what turned out to be their last show together at the German Rock TV show RockPalast in the summer of 1980, they passed Sting, who was waiting to go on with the Police. "Christ," muttered Sting to guitarist Brinsley Schwarz as the crowd continued their noisy appreciation, "I didn't know you were going to be that good."
