Gimme Friction: Television at Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London

ONE MOMENT, more than any other during this one-off London show on Easter Sunday, summed up the nature of the curious rock beast that is Television. As bassist Fred Smith – anchorman and peacekeeper in the quartet’s volatile mix of egos – introduced TV’s two principal sparring partners, both men were entirely invisible to anyone who wasn’t standing at the very lip of the stage.
