Gerry Marsden's Beating Heart

Chris Bourke, The New Zealand Herald, March 1997

GERRY MARSDEN will never walk alone. All he needs to do is go to Anfield and watch his beloved Liverpool football team. He can sit on the Kop – which at one time could squeeze in 25,000 fans – and listen to them sing. When their team needs a morale booster, the voices of the Kop will rally around. The stands will echo, "You'll never ... walk alone" – as they have for over 30 years.
