LOS ANGELES "Hughie [McDowall] just smashed one cello absolutely to pieces," Bev Bevan recalls with a laugh. "He throws it in the air and the spike lands in the stage, you know. I think this time the spike wasn't securely tightened up and so on impact the spike collapsed into the cello. The cello hit the floor and just smashed into a thousand pieces. That was the end of that one!"
