Eric Bibb

David Burke, R2/Rock'n'Reel, January 2014

DR JOY DEGRUY coined the term Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome to describe the multi-generational trauma experienced by African Americans as a consequence of slavery. In a 2005 study, the Assistant Professor at Portland State University identified vacant esteem, a marked propensity for anger and violence, and racist socialisation as three key indicators of PTSS. Eric Bibb explores a similar theme on 'The Right Thing', a track from Jericho Road, his finest album yet.
