Einstürzende Neubaten: Heaven, London

THE FIRST visitors to the garish Heaven club on Monday night were GLC safety inspectors, alerted perhaps by reports of Einstürzende Neubaten's previous London performance in January 1984 when, wielding cement-breakers, chainsaws and pneumatic drills, the experimentalist Berliners set about demolishing the foundations of the ICA stage. However, no such literal enactment of their name ("Collapsing New Buildings") was in the offing on this occasion.
