Dwight Yoakam: Local Yoakam
Bill Bentley, L.A. Weekly, 22 November 1984
EVEN WITH the so called cow-punk semi-stampede started in '82 by Rank & File, country music hasn't made any significant inroads into the life of this city. Sure there're groups like Lone Justice, Blood on the Saddle and a few quasi-country rockabilly spin-offs, but by and large if anyone wants to hear real country, it's going to take a ticket at least to Texas. One night of John Anderson at the Roxy doesn't a movement make.
