DURAN DURAN were, of course, the original band who wanted to combine the Sex Pistols with Chic. Taking their name from a character in the schlocky sci-fi flick Barbarella, they were always quick to demonstrate their aesthetic credentials, while sporting some of the most ludicrously provincial fashions ever.
