Probably the only person who isn't surprised to find Don Cherry playing on the Slits' tour is Cherry himself. Since his apprenticeship with free-jazz guru Ornette Coleman, the trumpeter has pursued a fascinating multi-ethnic career which centres around his house in Norway.
