Def Mix: The house that Judy built

Bill Brewster, Pacha, August 2007

AT THE CENTRE of every story is what philosopher Malcolm Gladwell calls a "connector". Connectors are people who know lots of other people. They are the sorts of folks who everyone knows. They might not be the life and soul of the party, but they are certainly at its centre. They make things happen. They join the dots. They, naturally enough, connect. The connector at the core of our story is a feisty Jewish New Yorker called Judy Weinstein.
