David Crosby
Charles Shaar Murray, New Musical Express, 19 April 1975
IT STARTED with trademark objects, really. When The Byrds got their hit with 'Mr Tambourine Man', Jim McGuinn established himself as the one with those tiny rectangular shades and David Crosby swaddled himself up in a massive velvet cape. Gene Clark just had bad teeth, and Mike Clarke looked like Brian Jones, which meant that he usually got to stand next to Chris Hillman in the publicity photographs.
