David Bowie: Back With 'Oddity'

BASICALLY A high-class novelty record, 'Space Oddity', now topping the chart, was first released on 11 July 1969. At the time, the Main Man himself described it as "a mixture of 2001, Salvador Dali and the Bee Gees". The reference to Dali seems a little pretentious, but otherwise, even in retrospect, it seems a fair summing-up.
