THIS IS CRAZY. I'm in Cheriy's Roller Rink, in Northeast Washington, D.C. The place is filled with black teenagers, and even their younger brothers and sisters, dancing like there's no tomorrow. An enormous hulk of man-mountain named Big Al is following me around, staying two steps behind me at every moment.
