WHO COULD have foreseen a re-birth on this grand scale? The basic struggle for Cornershop has always been one for identity and, while they've been embraced and loathed in roughly equal measure, there's always been the feeling of something not being quite right. To change — or even affect — the minds of the indie intelligentsia demands taking them somewhere they've never been, yet these Wiiija popsters' wilful incompetence and studied obscurantism seemed to stay within familiar parameters.
