Canned Heat: The badass blues band that death couldn't kill

Max Bell, Classic Rock, January 2015

PICTURE THE SCENE: April 4, 1981, outside the World Famous Palomino Club in North Hollywood. The members of Canned Heat and their friends are smoking in the yard after finishing their first set. Midnight approaches when a man later identified as a former Israeli tank commander mingles with a maniacal crew of the Heat's staple following: outlaws, banditos and Hells Angels including their manager, a tattooed biker called Ray Chambers aka "The Push".
