ONE IMPORTANT fact about the geography of American rock which often gets overlooked is the importance of Oklahoma in the scheme of things. Not the Broadway and Hollywood musical, but the mid-Western state, out of which came Woody Guthrie in the Thirties, singing his Dust Bowl Ballads.
