Boz Scaggs: Silk Degrees (Columbia PC 33920)

Bud Scoppa, Phonograph Record, April 1976

FOR EIGHT years, Boz Scaggs has been making playable, durable albums (counting the new one, there are now six solo LPs, and before that, Scaggs contributed plenty to the first two albums by the Steve Miller Band). The couple-hundred-thousand people who've discovered him during the course of his recording career are too large a number to constitute a mere cult, but for some reason, the guy remains more obscure than the most esoteric of cult figures ('Boss Kegs?').
