Bobby Womack: Hammersmith Odeon, London

YEARS AGO when Bobby Womack bought his raw but stylised music to this same venue it was more a case of disintegration than any cause for celebration. As a friend recalls, Womack kept his audience impatiently waiting for an hour before he was finally spotted, blocked, entering the side door of the venue with a girl on either arm.
