WHAT IF HE HADN'T died so young? Among rock fans, that kind of speculation usually centers on icons like Jimi Hendrix and Buddy Holly. Among some of Los Angeles' tradition-minded young rockers, it's singer-guitarist Magic Sam, who was on the verge of recognition as a major blues talent before his death in 1969 at 32.
