STANDING MAYBE 5'7" high, blond hair surrounding a Paul Kantner-shaped face framed by a pair of oversized red-plastic-framed glasses, John "Moon" Martin is about the unlikeliest candidate for rock stardom since you-know-who. But if Elvis is King around your castle, then Moon must be considered a contender. Would we have missed him (as a stage performer in his own right) had he stayed home writing tunes for Mink DeVille and Michelle Phillips? Probably not. But he's on the road now, touring behind his own first LP, and he is playing rock 'n' roll, so let's check him out...
