Behind the scenes with Lelan Rogers

John Abbey, Blues & Soul, 23 July 1971

LELAN ROGERS first sprang to prominence as the man who brought national success to Esther Phillips with 'Release Me'. In the decade that has passed, Lelan – who is the brother of pop singer Kenny Rogers – has controlled the Silver Fox label and more recently went into business on his own with House of the Fox Records, for whom Maceo & All The King's Men record. Lelan was in London finalising a contract by which Pye International will represent his line throughout Europe.
