Ay Bop A Dobey: Todd Terry

Frank Broughton, Mixmag, May 1992

"I'M FLYING down to Florida tomorrow, but I don't like hot weather so I guess it's gonna be terrible — I don't exactly need a suntan." There's snow on the ground here in New York City — big, slushy, grey piles of it — and house legend Todd Terry is actually moaning about having to travel to the Sunshine State. He's headed to the annual Winter Music Conference where sticky record executives from the major labels will no doubt court him, especially because of 'Hear The Music' by the Gypsy Men, an addictive slab of Terry-produced popsy house.
