Andy Johns 1952-2013

Phil Sutcliffe, MOJO, June 2013

ANDY JOHNS lived rock'n'roll, whether that meant delicately dangling microphones over a banister at country house studio Headley Grange to get the sound of John Bonham's drums just so (for Led Zeppelin IV), or kicking a toilet door down while Keith Richards was taking a crap in order to splatter the Stones guitarist with a gooey slice of his own birthday cake (the Exile On Main Street sessions).

Total word count of piece: 534
