An Interview with Millie Small

Tom Graves, Goldmine, August 2016

MILLIE SMALL, the diminutive Jamaican teen sensation who introduced the world to the sounds of ska with her worldwide smash hit 'My Boy Lollipop', is one of the most elusive performers in pop history. Her last recorded performance was a lip-synch of 'My Boy Lollipop' in 1973 for a U.K. television show. She wasn't heard from again until 1987 when she was featured in a news brief on Thames TV that reported Millie was without money and living in a youth hostel with her toddler daughter.
