Al Green, Laura Lee: Apollo Theatre, New York NY

Dan Nooger, The Village Voice, 15 November 1973

I WONDER WHAT the regular Apollo Theatre audience thought when they saw a contingent of 20 or so white writers (limoed all the way from 57th Street) slide up a side aisle to take seats in the back for the last few minutes of Gumshoe and a highly improbable Jacques Costeau short involving a goldfish, a bird, and a hungry cat. (Each show at the Apollo features a movie — usually a grade Z mystery — in addition to whatever groups are playing that week.)
