Richard and Linda Thompson: The Venue, London

David Hepworth, Sounds, 10 March 1979

QUITE HONESTLY the Venue would be such a nice place if they didn't have those bands on. You're trying to focus on Richard and Linda Thompson grinding through 'Restless Highway' while your vision is obscured by some guy feeling for change by the light of his pure orange juice and a waitress bending solicitously over him in the most distracting fashion. Not conducive to concentration at all.
